We were very proud to share our 10th anniversary at Café 19 with all our customers and friends. Café 19 was created back in 2006 after the Spratt family bought an existing pizzeria restaurant. Right from the start, our vison was to create a fair-priced no-frills local Café, continental style and incorporating a seaside feel to our menu, serving good honest food and drink that appeals to everyone.
Putting back into the local community is an important part of Café 19. We employ over 20 full time and part time local staff; we use local suppliers whenever possible. As a family business we feel very strongly in supporting our local high street and small local businesses. We use Fair Trade coffee and organic teas, sustainable line-caught fish and the majority of our meat comes from Essex and Suffolk farms.
Always trying to improve our service to our loyal customers over the last 10 years, we have continuously refurbished and improved our facilities and also changed our menus to incorporate the rise in food intolerances. We now have a selection of gluten free items on our menu even our chips are gluten free!
Café 19 is a family affair! We have four daughters, two of whom have already worked at Café 19. As a family we love living in Frinton. We moved here to improve our family’s quality of life, which has definitely happened. Graced with four girls we will never be able to retire so expect Café 19 to be around for a very long time.
Our staff are very important to us. They are loyal and hardworking and very much part of our success.
